Cabot's Waverly carbon black plant closes on schedule

Boston, Massachusetts -- Cabot Corp has confirmed that its carbon black plant in Waverly, West Virginia has closed on schedule. The company announced last June that it would close the plant in March of this year, but continue shipping product until the middle of the year.
The plant closed on 31 March. Cabot said that 48workers would be affected in total. The plant had nominal capacity for 80 kt/year according to ERJ figures.
