ContiTech retrofitting Hungarian bus fleet
Hanover, Germany - ContiTech Vibration Control is installing Schwingmetall cone mounts in Miskolc, Hungary's fleet of urban transit buses. The move follows passenger complaints following the instillation of Euro IV-generation diesel engines, which caused excessive vibration.
“The previous supplier's mount design was no longer capable of compensating for the vibration we now had to deal with,†explained Axel Thor, engineer at ContiTech Kautschuk und Kunststoffvertriebsgesellschaft in Wiener Neudorf, Austria, who services the Hungarian market. “ContiTech technology was able to restore riding comfort in the buses.â€
Around a dozen of the transit company's buses were equipped with a Schwingmetall 210444 45Sh A cone mount at six points. By summer the whole transit fleet will have been retrofitted with the high-performance cone mount.
