Forbes names Goodyear a top reputable U.S. company
Akron, Ohio -- Goodyear has been featured on Forbes magazine's third annual listing of the 75 most reputable companies in the US.
At No. 16, Akron-based Goodyear is the only tyre maker featured on the list based on results compiled by the Reputation Institute from its Global Pulse consumer opinion survey. The survey was meant to measure consumers' respect, trust, esteem and admiration for global companies.
Company scores are based on the institute's seven dimensions of reputation-products and services, innovation, workplace, citizenship, governance, leadership and performance.
Goodyear scored a 76, which was 7.54 points higher than its score in 2007 and the largest year-over-year improvement for all listed companies.
'This recognition is very meaningful,†said Robert J. Keegan, Goodyear chairman and CEO. “It demonstrates that our strategy to offer high-quality innovative tires with consumer-relevant technology is resonating with American drivers.â€
