NR prices continue to slide; butadiene plunges $400/tonne in a week

Tokyo -- Prices of natural rubber continued to plummet as markets opened in Asia this morning. In Tokyo, the six-month price fell to a low of Yen 191 ($1.90) at the close on Monday, down over seven percent on the day .
In Singapore prices rose slightly, with RSS3 trading around $1.92/kg on Monday, up from $1.88. TSR 20 was also up slightly, at $1.80 from $1.78 at market opening.,
Press reports also indicated that prices of butadiene monomer, only recently at over $3000/tonne are likely to fall below $2000/tonne in the coming days, following a slide of up to $500/tonne in the last week.
