Goodyear selects outsider to lead North American tyre unit

Akron, Ohio -- The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Curt Andersson as president of the company's North American Tire business unit. Andersson will join Goodyear from Cooper Crouse-Hinds of Syracuse, New York on 16 Feb. He succeeds Richard Kramer who was elected Goodyear's chief operating officer in June 2009.
Andersson, 48, has been president of the Crouse-Hinds division of Cooper Industries, one of Cooper's largest businesses, for the past six years. Prior to Cooper Industries, Andersson was senior vice president of industrial integration for The Timken Company in Canton, Ohio. He also spent six years at General Electric Company in roles of increasing responsibilities in the United States and Mexico, culminating as general manager of the aviation information services business from 1999 until 2000.
