Yokohama introduces new tyre range, exhibiting at Geneva Motor Show
ERJ staff report (RD)
Tokyo -- The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. Has introduced a new “high-performance eco tyre†to its “c.drive†series in Europe, a 25 Feb company statement said.
C.drive2, available in 26 sizes from 14-17-inches, was developed for a better wet grip while maintaining a low rolling resistance for fuel efficiency, Yokohama said. The new tyre will be part of Yokohama's exhibition at the Geneva International Motor Show 2010, beginning on 2 March in Switzerland.
Other highlights on the tyre maker's stand will include a specially tuned Toyota Prius Hybrid wearing "super E-spec" concept tyres, which is also coloured based on an image of green leaves, designed to highlight Yokohama's intention to develop tyres that contribute to environmental protection, the statement said.
According to Yokohama, the super E-spec tyre includes a next-generation inner liner, “Airtex,†which provides superior air retention and improves fuel efficiency, as well as a “Super Nano-Power Rubber Compound†with Orange Oil, to enhance both fuel efficiency and grip.
The company will also be exhibiting its S.drive (high-performance sport tyre), A.drive (all-round standard tyre), and W.drive (winter tyre) models at the Geneva Motor Show.
