Pirelli to build new greenfield tyre plant in Russia
By David Shaw, ERJ staff
Geneva, Switzerland -Pirelli has abandoned
plans to buy an existing tyre plant in Russia, or to work with a brownfield
facility. Instead, the company will build a new greenfield unit in Russia. The company
has not yet decided where or what capacity the unit will be.
Francesco Gori, head of Pirelli's tyre unit
told ERJ exclusively that the company had looked at a number of options in
Russia, but had decided not to pursue any pre-existing facility, preferring to
build its own Greenfield unit.
He did not give any further details of the
project.
