ERJ staff report (DS)
Poznan, Poland -- Bridgestone Europe is to expand production at its plant in Poznan. The plant produces passenger car tyres for the European market. Bridgestone said it has allocated approximately 105 million euros for the investment, which will result in an increase of 5,600 tyres per day in the production.
The additional production will start from January 2012 and gradually increase until reaching full production in Jan 2014. An increase of 200 jobs is foreseen. The Poznan plant, which celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2008, specializes in the production of Ultra High Performance tyres and Run-Flat tyres.
“This expansion of the plant is an important step in increasing the locally sourced supply ratio for our European sales, as well as a recognition of our confidence in the quality of our workforce in our Poznan plant†commented Samon Isogai, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, at Bridgestone Europe.
