Essen, Germany -- Vredestein has won board approval to increase capacity at its plant in Enschede, Netherlands to 6 million units/year from 5.1 million. Further demand for tyres will be met from Apollo Group's new passenger car tyre plant in Chennai, India.
Rob Oudshoorn Chief executive of Vredestein Banden previously said he wanted to expand to 10 milllion units/year, but on Monday evening he told journalists that booming demand for Vredestein brand tyres will be met mostly from the Enschede plant but around 1 million units/year will be made in India.
