Goodyear 'continues to build' on the European tire label
ERJ staff report (TP)
Geneva, Switzerland – Goodyear is showcasing a selection of its SUV tires at the Geneva Motor Show, which all carry high European tire label grades.
The brand is displaying a number of tires for the SUV and cross-over car segment, including a BA labelled tire on the new Nissan Qashqai 2014 edition, a new fitment for the company and a BB label on its Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV tire.
Goodyear said its ongoing commitment to the European tire label builds on its recent successes in this field. The company was the first to release an AA concept tire and also has one of the highest labelled tire portfolios on the market, a “mere” one and a half years into the label scheme, driven by its recently launched EfficientGrip Performance for small and mid-segment cars, featuring a BA label across a majority of sizes offered.
“Developing tires which score high on the European tire label has been a key priority for Goodyear over the past two years,” said Michel Rzonzef, Vice President of the Consumer Tyre Business at Goodyear EMEA.
“Since its introduction we have supported the idea that the new tire label would play an important role in tire dealer and consumer purchase decision-making, and this has been confirmed by our ongoing research.”
Recent independent research funded by Goodyear has confirmed that the label is playing a major role in tire purchase decision, revealing that 53 percent of dealers use the label in their “sales argumentation” and that the influence on consumer purchase behaviour is "already as high as" 36 percent.
