Freudenberg commits to India

Bangalore, India -- Freudenberg group said it recorded healthy growth in the Indian market - net sales in the country for the Group rose by 33.6 percent to Rs 558 crores (euro 92 million) from Rs 417 crores (euro 69 million) in 2008. The growth was even more significant in the first half of 2010 wherein sales grew by 80 percent compared with the first half of 2009.
Freudenberg said recent investments in factories and its sales organisation in India totaled over Rs 130 crores (euro 21 million). The number of associates rose to 2000 in 2009 from 1322 in 2008. In the first half of 2010, that rose again to 2301 associates.
Freudenberg now has nine operating business units in India with over 26 facilities in ten cities and regions spread across the country.
