Hybrid car wins title on BluEarth tyres

Tokyo - Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., said an Aeroprius Yurastyle neo designed by Takuya Yura, fitted with the company's new eco tyre BluEarth-1 (195/65R15 91H), took the overall title in the hybrid-vehicle event Eco Car Cup 2011 staged at Fuji International Speedway on April 10, 2011.
In the Eco Car Cup, vehicles compete in six stages, including time trials, sprint races and endurance races, accumulating overall points for both speed and fuel efficiency. The Aeroprius Yurastyle neo participated in the Prius EXP class (commercially available aerodynamic parts allowed) and finished first overall, with 155 points out of a possible 194, scoring impressively in Stages 5 and 6 with rankings of 5th in a 35-minute endurance race and 5th in fuel efficiency, respectively. Nineteen teams, including professional drivers, participated this year.
