Prodicon hails high quality demand
ERJ staff report (TP)
Moscow – Prodicon, the Italian equipment manufacturer for the rubber industry, stressed the virtues of patience and its plans to reap the demand for high quality machinery abroad.
ERJ talked with Alberto Ballabio, Sales Manager, at the Moscow Expocentre last week.
The Milan-based firm “manufactures machinery for the automatic cooling, cutting and stacking of uncured rubber in form of sheet, strips and slabs”.
The show is seen as an excellent opportunity to meet its Russian customers as they were last here in 2008. Ballabio said this interval was down to two main reasons.
Firstly, the market had been a bit slow, but now has seen a slight resurgence. Secondly, they had been “rather busy” so it was “difficult” to keep in constant contact with any Russian customers.
With regards to 2014, Prodicon plans to “keep expanding in areas becoming more sensitive to high quality equipment such as India, other Asian countries and South America.”
Finally, he had sound advice for those pondering a Russian adventure.
“You need to have patience, but also need to have a personal approach.
“Projects take quite a long time to be realised – so be flexible.”
