Michelin UK wins biggest-ever order for Flotation Agri tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Stoke-on-Trent, UK -- Lincolnshire-based manufacturer Bailey Trailers has placed the largest single order for Michelin's CargoXbib tyres ever placed in the UK. A total of 1,100 CargoXbib tyres are being delivered to its Sleaford factory in 2011 - nearly double the 600 supplied last year.
These specialist tyres and wheels offer increased ground protection and a lower rolling resistance when compared with remould truck tyres - previously the mainstream fitment for agricultural trailer applications.
Michael Bailey, Sales Director at family-owned Bailey Trailers, says: “Flotation trailer tyres are in high-demand, particularly on our TB arable trailers and Beeteaper root crop models. We're expecting at least 40 per cent of our manufacturing output this year to be delivered to customers on CargoXbibs. It's an area of the trailer's specification where we are witnessing a very noticeable change in customer demand.â€
