Nokian brings new tech; new products to OTR business

Nokia, Finland -- Nokian tyres has launched new products in the off-road mining segent and claims new technologies in the material handling and earthmoving segments.
IN the mining segment, Nokian Heavy Tyres said it is introducing two new products for earthmoving use: the Nokian TRI 2 Extreme Steel and Nokian Loader Grip 3, both tailored for use on demanding sites. The TRI 2 Extreme Steel tractor tyre features a tread designed particularly for conditions requiring constant use of chains. The Nokian Loader Grip 3 is designed for wheeled loaders.
The third new tyre by the world's leading manufacturer of special tyres is the new member of the Nokian Nordman family: the Nokian Nordman Mine All-Steel Radial, a sturdy and durable mining tyre.
In the smaller materials handling segment, Nokian is extending its line based on, "Beyond All-Steel Radial technology". This technology, said Nokian, "features a unique combination of the best features of the traditional cross-ply and radial tyres: supreme stability, excellent durability and a low rolling resistance."
The first product using this technology was the Nokian HTS Straddle, a straddle carrier tyre. Now, a new size has been added to the product family: 480/95R25.
