Yokohama's Thailand plant wins ISO standards
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo - Yokohama Tire Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TRYT) obtained an international standard certification for energy management systems ISO50001 in August. In September, TRYT also obtained OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001 certification.
Started in June 2011, ISO50001 is a new certification standard and TRYT was the first company in the Yokohama Rubber Group to obtain it. It requires an organisation to establish and enhance energy efficiency systems and processes.
OHSAS18001 is a standard aimed at protecting people in the workplace from on-the-job accidents and injuries, as part of sound managerial practices for successful business. April 2010 was a starting point for TRYT in their efforts to obtain OHSAS18001 certification as well.
