ERJ staff report (DS)
Victoria State, Australia -- Carbon Polymers said it has been awarded a Victorian Government tender worth more than Aus$1 million (euro 744,000 ) to supply 2000 tonnes of granulated crumb rubber to Sprayline Services.
Sprayline is the commercial contracting arm of VicRoads, responsible for bitumen resurfacing. The company utilises rubber from recycled tyres and bitumen, a method that is environmentally friendly, reduces water penetration, increases aggregate retention and reduces pavement cracking.
Carbon Polymers has manufacturing and processing facilities throughout Australiam and is in the process of negotiating with several manufacturers of bitumen products that utilise rubber.
