SRF tyre cord business increased in H1

Mumbai -- Indian textiles and chemicals manufacturer SRF ltd has announced sales up 22 percent in the three months to 30 Sept 2011. SRF, which makes polyester and nylon-6 tyre cords and fabrics, posted sales of Rs 9140 million (euro 133 million). Pre-tax profits fell by 6 percent, however, to Rs. 1620 million.
In the Technical Textiles Business, while the segment revenue improved by 18 percent to Rs. 4200 million , the operating profit decreased by 12 percent to Rs. 300 million during the period.
A winner of the prestigious Deming Application Prize for its tyre cord business, SRF continues to redefine its work and corporate culture with the TQM as its management way. SRF said it is the second largest Nylon 6 tyre cord fabrics manufacturer in the
world. SRF also boasts of India's first and only plant having capacity to
produce new generation High Modulus Low Shrinkage (HMLS) yarn used for
reinforcement of passenger radial tyres and transmission belts and rubberised
hoses.
