Nizhnekamskneftekhim starts EPDM pilot plant

Nizhnekamsk, Tartarstan -- A conference held last week at the OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim R&D centre heard that the company's elastomer materials are up to global standards. Among participants were representatives of consumers using Nizhnekamsk Rubbers as raw materials, as well as developers and producers of components for rubber compounds.
The company said it has put into production a pilot plant for the manufacture of EPDM (specified as ethylene-propylene rubber and in Russian -- ??????-????????????? ??????? ?????). The company had not responded to a request for clarification of the status of this plant by press time.
OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim is a leading producer of synthetic rubbers (SR) in Russia. In 2010, the company produced a record quantity of SR: over 500 000 tons. The Company produced 43 percent of total output of the Sintezkauchuk Association, based on the 9 months' results of the current year.
OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim said it successfully cooperates with the largest overseas tyre companies, including Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, Continental, Bridgestone and Belshina Group.
