LeHigh adds capacity in Georgia

Atlanta, Georgia -- Lehigh Technologies has completed a 40 percent capacity expansion it its facility for making fine rubber powder from scrap tyres. The company invested around $3 million in the expansion at its plant in Tucker, Georgia.
The capacity expansion project, which started earlier this year brings annual plant capacity to 140 million pounds (66 kilotonnes). The project included increased capability for pre-processing and material handling, micronized rubber powder classification systems, engineering enhancements on the six production lines as well as the installation of state-of-the-art monitoring for process and quality control. .
Lehigh Technologies said its proprietary manufacturing process takes end-of-life tire and other post-industrial rubber material and "upcycles" it into micron-scale, high quality, sustainable powders
