Kerala to prioritise rubber - Minister

Kottayam, India -- The Kerala State Government is topriritise support for the rubber sector, said Sri. Oommen Chandy Chief Minister of Kerala in Kottayam yesterday. He said that his Government had urged the Union Ministry to increase the replanting subsidy for rubber cultivation as suggested by the Rubber Board. His government would take steps to support the RPSs, through the Village, Block and District Panchayats
Sri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Minister for Revenue said that rubber sector was the backbone of the state economy and the growers could achieve many things through their organisational power, through the RPSs. He also released the logo of the silver jubilee celebrations on the occasion.
