Tokai to expand automotive operation in India

Tokyo - Tokai Rubber is to add a factory and other facilities to support very rapid growth in demand for automotive rubber products in India.
The latest announcement will see a new factory close to Delhi to make automotive AVS products, due on stream in November 2013. This plant is located in the Neemrana Industrial Park about 120 km south-west of Delhi city-centre and is expected to employ 140 by 2015. The factory buildings will have an area of 2600 m2 on a 40,000 m2 site. The investment is rupees 800 million (euro 11.9 million)
The company brought its first Indian AVS unit on stream in January of this year, at a plant near Bangalore. The new plant is being added to improve logistics and transportation to customers in the northern part of India.
In addition, Tokai expects build a rubber hose plant in Faridabad in northern India. This unit will be located about 40km southwest from the center about Bangalore
