Preliminary hearing scheduled in Bridgestone trade secrets case
ERJ staff report (TB)
Akron, Ohio -- A preliminary hearing in the case against a former Bridgestone Americas senior scientist accused of stealing trade secrets is scheduled for May 18 in Akron federal district court, according to a spokeswoman for the Cleveland office of the FBI.
Xiaorong Wang appeared at a “probable cause†hearing in the Akron court today, at which the preliminary hearing date was set, the spokeswoman said.
Mr. Wang is accused of stealing trade secrets from his former employer and making false statements to federal agents when they questioned him. He joined Bridgestone in Akron in late 1995, but was dismissed in April 2010 for reasons unrelated to the charges in this case.
