Kraton announces reduced volumes into Q2

Houston, Texas - Kraton Performance Polymers, Inc. said sales revenues and volumes declined in the three months to June 30, 2012. Profits also fell.
Sales volume was 77 kilotons, compared to 82 kilotons in the second quarter 2011; Sales revenues decreased 3 percent year-on-year to $376 million, including a $26 million decline from changes in foreign currency. Net income was $12 million in the second quarter 2012, compared to net income of $47 million in the second quarter 2011
The company said raw materials prices had continued to be volatile in the quarter, but the company expected more stability going into Q3.
