Longhai outlines steelcord plans

Xingtai City, China-- Longhai Steel said it is investing In capacity to make steelcord for tyres in China.
The company describes Itself as, "a producer of high-quality steel wire products in the People's Republic of China" In announcing its half-year results, the company outlined plans in the steelcord segment.
The company said total capacity for all steel wire is 1.5 million metric tonnes annually, Executive Vice President Steven Ross said, “We recently expanded our production facility to include specialised applications such as steel wire rope, steel strand, steel belted radial tyres, and steel welding rod.â€
The Company's 600,000 MT production facility, completed in the third quarter of 2011, is located in Hebei, China, the largest steel producing province in the country. The state-of-the-art facility has a high-speed production line capable of producing a wide variety of conventional and higher value steel wire.
