Michelin, Zenith start environmental campaign with tire checks

Stoke-on-Trent, UK - Tire maker Michelin is working with UK fleet management company Zenith to educate its employees on the importance of regular tire inspections.
The inspections are part of an environmental campaign designed to significantly reduce some of carbon emissions, while also encouraging safer driving. Zenith launched the initiative is part of its corporate social responsibility policy encouraging Holland toys to play their part in reducing carbon emissions.
Zenith invited a team from Michelin to visit its headquarters in Leeds to hold our Fill Up With Air of them were technicians check tire pressures and tread depths, and give advice to drivers on tire maintenance.
A total of 82 cards were checked at the event. Results showed that 12 percent of the vehicle tested had the correct tire pressure, while 47 percent had dangerous tire pressures, 6 percent were level is considered to be very dangerous, and 2 percent had all four tires over-inflated.
Michelin said in a 14 Jan news release that is these cars were driven on tire of the correct pressure, safety would be significantly improved. It also estimates owners could collectively reduce carbon emissions by 3.2 tonnes each year because cars with tires of the correct pressure is use less fuel.
The tire maker also noted that if the result from 82 cards tested are indicative of all all Deckel striven by Zenith's 200 employees, the potential savings could be double that amount.
