Sailun appoints new president for Europe

Qingdao, China – Sailun Jinyu International (SJI) appointed Gareth Passmore as its new president for Europe to replace Martin West, effective on 1 December, 2016.

Passmore will be in charge of operations of the company’s four tire brands in Europe, Sailun, Jinyu, Black Lion and Rovelo.

West will serve as global president of the SJI Speciality Tire Group. The company has set up its European operation centre in Birmingham, U.K.

Prior to joining Sailun, Passmore worked as Falken’s Europe export sales director responsible for the brand’s sales and marketing in 13 European countries.

The industry veteran also worked with Continental for 18 years in North Africa, the Near and Middle East and South Asia as well as with Apollo in Africa and Latin America.

Sailun is "very highly regarded and very ambitious – I am looking forward to the challenge of developing and growing our market share for all of our brands across all of Europe,” said Passmore.
