Huntsman tunes up TPU for K2016
Dusseldorf, Germany — Materials supplier Huntsman has announced will unveil an innoavative thermoplastic polyurethane for the sports footwear market at K2016, the company has announced.
As well as being ultra-lightweight, high cushioning and fully recyclable, the TPU material is said offer tuneable rebound properties - meaning that the TPU can provide optimised energy-return properties in shoe sole applications.
The target is to provide products in which "form and function are closely intertwined and where materials must look good but must also be high performing,” said Anja Weismann, global technology and innovation manager at Huntsman.
