Lancaster, UK – A UK rubber specialist has been selected to supply waterproof lining membranes for the National Heritage repair project on the Engine Arm Aqueduct near Smethwick in the English West Midlands.
The project will see Lancaster-based White Cross Rubber Products supply its waterproof rubber membrane Butylite product, to fabrication and installation company Butyl Products Ltd.
White Cross Rubber Products has also won another project with its Butylite product in the South Atlantic Ocean island of St Helena.
The company said that it has been chosen to supply the product to line a series of service reservoirs on the island.
The Lancaster-based company is also to supply its Petroseals rubber sheeting and coated textile products, which are hydrocarbon resistant, for floating roof seals in above ground fuel storage tanks in China.
The rubber products form a complex seal system between the tank wall and the floating roof as it moves up and down in response to changing fuel level, to mitigate the threat of explosions in a vapour filled void.
“We’re delighted with the variety and level of projects we’ve been able to secure this year,” said White Cross Rubber Products managing director, Rod Harper.
The company grew 12 percent in the last year, with a sharp 500-percent rise in exports in the last three years.
