Lotte Chemical going into PBR

Seoul – Lotte Chemical Corp., a South Korean petrochemical company, said on 13 March that it will launch a new polybutadiene rubber (PBR) business through a joint venture with Ube Industries and Mitsubishi Corp., reports the Yonhap News Agency.
Lotte, formerly known as Honam Petrochemical Corp., will build a plant in Malaysia scheduled to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of PBR from 2014.
Ube Industries will provide technical support. Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian unit of Lotte Chemical, will supply the butadiene feedstock.
