Mexico City – Safic-Alcan, through its subsidiary ChemSpec Ltd, has set up a Mexican distribution operation, ChemSpec Mexico S. de rl de cv.
ChemSpec Mexico will be based out of Mexico City, and will provide sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding industry, including tire and technical rubber production.
The company, which was officially set up on 17 Aug, will also supply to other industries such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomer, and plastics in the Mexican market segments.
“This move aligns with Safic-Alcan’s overall strategy of growing its presence across the NAFTA Region,” explained ChemSpec president Dave Moreland.
Over the past several years, said Moreland, many manufacturing companies have started production throughout northern and central Mexico, and in turn, more and more of our customers have asked us to support their Mexican operations.
Manuel Cortés is ChemSpec Mexico’s first employee, working as sales & marketing manager.
