Trelleborg acquires deep-sea composites company

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Offshore & Construction has finalised the acquisition of Manchester, UK-based Ambler Technologies.
Ambler develops and produces composite materials designed to achieve precisely specified buoyancy and insulation properties, mainly for deep-sea environments.
The acquisition is intended to provide Trelleborg with access to cutting-edge expertise and expanded production capacity for strategically important components; also to strengthen Trelleborg’s position in oil and gas exploration and extraction, particularly in buoyancy modules for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
Ambler’s net sales in 2012 were around €6m.
