London – The Michelin group has been recognised for its commitment to sustainable development, having come top in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability World Index ranking with a score of 87/100.
The French tire-maker announced on 23 Sept that it ranked first in its sector in relation to 12 of the 18 assessment criteria used by the survey in the three major CSR fields: social aspects, environmental aspects and societal aspects.
Michelin, it said, stood out in particular for its performance in the ‘social sector’ with a significant increase in the quality of its relationships with stakeholders.
In the field of the environment, for the second consecutive year, Michelin kept the maximum score of 100 for its climate strategy.
In the economic field, Michelin performed best on five of the six criteria, with the largest increase in relation to its code of ethics and compliance policy.
