Subotica, Serbia – ContiTech Fluid Serbia is planning to expand its hose assembly plant in Subotica to include another production building, the company announced 8 July.
The expansion, it said, will include a second production building, in which the company will invest double-digit millions of euros, and will more than double the shop floor area.
ContiTech and the Serbian government have signed a declaration of intent for the investment, which is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
“The reason for the expansion is the continuing good order book situation at the site,” according to Markus Murk, head of the power train segment within ContiTech Mobile Fluid Systems.
In Subotica, the segment currently has approximately 650 employees and uses its shopfloor area of 7,200 m2 to assemble hose lines for the power train.
The plant supplies to European car makers as well as manufacturers of trucks, agricultural vehicles and industrial trucks.
Construction of the new building is planned to start before the end of this year, and completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of next year.
