Schwertberg, Austria – Machinery company Engel has developed a new compact hydraulic machine that can process all common rubber compounds and produce O-rings with a 102-cavity mould.
The horizontal machine with optimised heating plate dimensions and a screw injection unit delivers “very high” precision for production with small and mid-sized shot volumes, said Engel, adding that it makes fully automatic processing possible with conventional brush modules.
Another efficiency factor is the economic energy consumption. The new O-ring machine is equipped with ecodrive servo-hydraulics as a standard, which reduces energy consumption by consistently reducing energy losses. As the heating phases are often longer, there is a particularly large potential for savings in the production of O-rings and flat gaskets.
The Austrian company will display the machine at the DKT/IRC show, to be held 29 June – 2 July, saying the machine has been developed to “better support” its customers in the highly competitive market of O-rings and flat gaskets.
At the DKT/IRC it will be equipped with an electrically powered brushing device by Berger Bürstmaschinen of Wyhl am Kaiserstuhl, Germany.
