Beijing – China’s production and sales of passenger cars rose in 2014, registering 10.2 percent and 9.9 percent year-on-year growth respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
CAAM said in a report that despite the rise, growth rates for production and sales were considerably lower than the previous year, dropping by 6.3 percent and 5.8 percent respectively.
According to CAAM, China’s auto exports in the first 11 months of 2014 reached 910,400 units in 2014, down 6.9 percent year-on-year.
The country’s accumulated imports of automobiles for the same period reached 1,295,400 units, up 20.7 percent year-on-year, said CAAM quoting customs figures.
