Silicone potting compound meets UL flammability standard

Rocky Hill, Connecticut, USA – Designed to ensure integrity of electrical components by sealing against corrosion and outdoor contaminants, Loctite SI 5640T is claimed to offer strong adhesion to plastics and resists 85°C/85% RH aging conditions. The two-part, self-levelling silicone potting compound is flame retardant to Underwriters Laboratory standard UL 94 VO when applied in thicknesses as low as 6 mm, says Loctite.
Gelling in 5 minutes, the product is cited as having a 30 Shore A hardness rating and elongation greater than 100%. Loctite lists applications include electrical meters, signage/displays, HVAC components, solar panels and LED lighting.
