Momentive breaks ground on German silane plant

Leverkusen, Germany – Momentive Performance Materials Inc. broke ground on its new silane manufacturing facility in Leverkusen on 26 Jan.

The firm said in a news release the new site will serve the automotive industry with its NXT-brand of silane products, targeting the European market. It is Momentive’s second facility in Leverkusen and joins a network of 24 manufacturing sites worldwide.

The site is expected to begin production in 2017 with a $30 million (€28 million) investment to add manufacturing capacity.
