Gevo, Butamax continue isobutanol patent battle

United States – The ongoing dispute between bio-engineering companies Gevo and Butamax over bio-sourced isobutanol continues. Each company has sued the other over alleged patent infringements. At stake is the intellectual property over commercially-viable production of isobutanol by micro-organisms. The isobutanol can be used as a fuel, or as intermediates for butadiene and other molecules.
